Episciences Project to start in April

Thursday, January 31, 2013

Tim Gowers, the mathematician who started the formal boycott of Elsevier, has just announced the formation of the Episciences Project, an initiative designed to make it easy for scientists to create high quality journals that are peer reviewed and open access. Funded by the Centre pour la Communication Scientifique Directe (CCSD) in collaboration with the Institut Fourier at Grenoble University, the Episciences Project will provide infrastructure that will allow scientists to create online journals that will link back to peer-reviewd articles in the arXiv repository, which has been used by scientists for over 25 years to share their work.
