The Getty Museum announces Open Content Program
The Getty Museum announced today its commitment to making many of its digital resources freely available without usage restrictions through the new Open Content Program. The Getty iris, the online magazine of the Getty, reports that the Open Content Program has made "4,600 high-resolution images of the Museum’s collection free to use, modify, and publish for any purpose." Over time, the Getty eventually plans to make available images of all of the works for which the Getty Museum holds all of the rights, as well as images of all of the public-domain materials in its holdings.
