Open Access advocates respond to Science article on Open Access Journals

Open Access advocates have vigorously responded to a scathing article in Science criticizing Open Access journals.
At the forefront of the response:
- Heather Joseph, director of the Scholarly Publishing and Research Coalition (SPARC): Science Magazine's Open Access "Sting"
- Peter Suber, a philosopher who leads Open Access efforts at Harvard and internationally: New "sting" of weak open-access journals
- Michael Eisen, a scientist at UC Berkeley, and the co-founder of the Public Library of Science (PLoS) journals: I confess, I wrote the Arsenic DNA paper to expose flaws in peer-review at subscription based journals
