Senate Hearings Examine Public Access and Scholarly Publication Interests
he Senate Subcommittee on Investigations and Oversight held a hearing on March 29, 2012 to receive testimony about the issues surrounding public access to federally-funded research. The Subcommittee's web site contains the hearing charter and links to written statements from the experts that testified, including Stuart Schieber, Director of the Office for Scholarly Communications at Harvard University. Harvard is one of the members of the Coalition of Open Access Institutions (COAPI), co-founded at KU. A webcast of the hearing is available.
