SPARC Offers Next Steps for Authors Who Have Signed the Elsevier Boycott
Over the past few months, there has been a growing number of scholars on campuses around the world (over 9,700 to date) who have signed onto or expressed support for the actions called for in the boycott statement on the "Cost of Knowledge" website.
The Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) has prepared a "suggested next steps" resource meant to assist in moving sentiments surrounding the Elsevier boycott into additional constructive, tangible action, beyond the first steps of the boycott. The "SPARC Guide to Campus Action" provides some additional actions, larger or smaller, for individuals and collections of scholars to consider.
